21st Century Scribes - Custom Wedding Invitations by Professional Calligraphers - Toronto
There are two reasons for our excellent prices. The first is that we don't have the overhead of a retail outlet to worry about, just our studio. The second reason is that our profitability depends on volume, not inflated price tags.

We urge you to shop around, because we are confident you will not find - anywhere - custom invitations of comparable value at prices lower than ours. In fact, what you will find is a host of considerably higher-priced invitations generated from mechanical fonts, often designed indifferently, and often printed on undistinguished papers. Many of these will claim to be custom-made, but what that almost invariably means is that you are given an opportunity to machine-insert your words into one of a very limited set of invitations that have already been produced on an assembly line in a factory, and are sitting on a shelf waiting for you when you arrive.

At 21st Century Scribes, however, we get together (electronically if you live in another city or country) and discuss your budget, needs and desires. You select papers from our stunning collection of over 1000 of the world's finest art papers. You decide on a format - even if it's one we have never produced before. You choose one or more of our many beautiful calligraphic scripts (not fonts). Then we get to work, cutting the paper by hand, writing your texts and personalized monogram by hand, digitizing the hand-written texts and then hand-feeding them into our laser and inkjet printers (or if you prefer offset printing, or specialized effects like embossing and gold-foiling, shepherding your work through one of our sub-contractors). Finally, we take the individual components and hand-assemble each invitation.

The bottom line? Well, our records indicate that the average client over the past two years paid an average of $719 for his invitation set, which includes 100 to 125 hand-written invitations each containing 2-4 high-quality papers, 100-125 response cards containing 1-2 high quality papers, 100-125 mailing and 100-125 response card envelopes, with return addresses on each.
